Self-care: Own your Health

As of now, there is only a finite number of days you will ever receive. Time is your most scarce asset. Think of yourself marrooned on an uncharted island with scant modern comforts such as your favorite candy bar. You chew and enjoy all about half of it only to realize you have eaten half of something that you will never taste again. Unless by some miracle, an arbitrary plane 1)finds your uncharted island and 2)recognizes that a forgotten soul, YOU, needs to be rescued, you better hold fast to what you have left. It is simple math. You have exactly 1/2 of a resource left at your desposal. So what percent of that fraction do you want to spend gripping and complaining instead of enjoying the rest of it in good time. Human beings commit one of the grossest errors believing in a surplus of time. Spend time self-learning and gain blissful experiences that measure up to a greater ratio with a growth mindset than with a fixed mindset. You will be happier.

Besides the previously mentioned notion of the finite, there are no guarantees. You do not know how many of your wakeful days you will spend in safety, how many in danger: in health/in sickness, in wealth/in poverty, in warmth/in coldness, in company/in solitude, etc. The morrow will bring unexpected events. Be mindful of the decisions you make, because they can have lasting effects on your latter decisions. In your wake, be sure your decisions lead toward healthy lifestyles and habits; spiritually in mind and physically in body.

Your second most scarce resource is health. Your health care is your personal responsibility, and thus in your hands. Healthcare equates to the stresses you place on your body, the preoccupations you place on your mind, the type of food you place in your mouth, the environment you place yourself and the company you place in your personal space. Healthcare is not just the medical treatments or examinations that your doctor performs. Docoters diagnose illness and perscribe treatments, surgeries, and drugs. This is what some have dubbed the "Illness"-care system. For urgent and dire problems always consult a licenced medical professional. For chronic and seasonal conditions consider your habits. Know your body, know your limits, know when you need a medical professional.
